Transcript – Become A Catalyst: Why Supporting Change Is Key To Growth

So I had a life coach years ago because I thought, well, you know what? I’m not doing very well with my career. And I remember I was crying in a cafe to my life coach, and he said, Shola, why are you crying? I said, Well, I want to be a speaker. And he said, okay, well, why are you crying about it? I said, Well, I just don’t know if I can make it. I don’t know who I want to speak to. What about? And he did something really special. He was a catalyst for me in that moment. And what he said was, okay, if you want this, get a diary, get a notebook. Let’s make a plan. So catalysts are people that help others take action and realize their dreams, realize their ambitions. They are allies. They are inclusive. They are people who want action and forward movement. And so catalyst is the third seat of empathy, because if you are listening to people, if you’re understanding what they need, you can then inspire and encourage them to go further, to take action, to help them to achieve their goals. So change is inevitable. So why not be a catalyst and support that change?
