Transcript – The Power of Listening in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Interestingly, Josh Burson, who’s a consultant in California, did a big survey on what do organizations need to do right regarding diversity, equity, and inclusion? What can they do? What’s the biggest step that they can take to help support dei in the workplace? And can you believe that organizations that listen, hear, and act upon it, it those actions are more powerful than many, many, many I think he said all of the other DEI interventions. So if we can simply listen as an organization, hear what’s being said, and then act on what people are saying, look at the results. Twelve times more likely to engage and retain employees. Eight and a half times more likely to satisfy and retain customers. Eight and a half times more likely inspire a sense of belonging and DEI. Diversity, equity, inclusion. Inclusion of belonging. So tightly linked. And you can see also adapting to change innovation just from listening. So whatever we hear, oh, you need to listen better. It seems like that. Again, just give me some technology, give me something new. But listening is never, ever going to go out of style.
